title says it all

Post 2 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Saturday, 04-Nov-2006 9:36:20

It says it all about how materialistic and superfical the human race has become. For my family to have a great time and for the British troops in Iraq to come home.

Post 3 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Saturday, 04-Nov-2006 9:36:45

And of course all those in Afghanistan.

Post 4 by laced-unlaced (Account disabled) on Saturday, 04-Nov-2006 9:39:43

yes, i agree.

sending them to iraq was a bad idea in the first place

Goblin, take a chill pill. This topic shows nothing of Dan's character, nor that of the human race. We all want things like that, so, stand down.

Post 6 by chelslicious (like it or not, I'm gonna say what I mean. all the time.) on Saturday, 04-Nov-2006 14:33:43

to be with that special someone, and have a good time with family.

I would like a mp3 player as I have never seen one, some new music cd's classical ones. G4's new album, Simon Cowell's new group which is children under 14, the new Tenner Alphy Boe and Ildivo. That is another one of Simon Cowell's groups. Michelle

I want an IRiver, a wireless card for my Braille Note (still waiting on that one from last year), a new harmonica (I get one every year to add to my collection), and to spend lots of time with friends who I haven't seen in a while. And money of course.

For god to tell me that he exists.

my two front teeth - OK I've said that every year and it's grating on me Lol haha .. I want things that are way too expensive; like a trecker? hmm I don't think so, Lol but yeh, probably money towards it, and to be with loved ones will be nice this year! and yes, of course I do agree with Goblin but not quite the way he expressed himself. Christmas is all about giving and recieving; doesn't make us selfish! :)

I'm not really sure to be honest.

Can i give a List? This has brought me to the debate of starting a Christmas list web page with pictures . . . .

1. Nintendo Wii would be NIiiiiice
2. MONEY
3. Airplane ticket to The Paris Air show 2007

I think ill stop there. . Because I could have all of that before it is Christmas. . . But as T-Roy has stated I'm not too sure as to what I really want (realistic gift).

Post 13 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Monday, 06-Nov-2006 8:31:25

I would want my own little house, a Kurzweil-NFB reader or one of those Reading Pens, an Index Basic S or D braille printer, Trekker for my BrailleNote, and/or to travel somewhere out of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Actually, I would take those as anytime gifts. *smile* No, but really, I'd probably just want the Reading Pen, some of those felt pictures that you can color in, one of those double spatula food turner things, some sets of those 3-D stickers, a 3-D decoration to hang on the wall, and a big set of crayons. As for nonmaterialistic things, I'd just want to get to see some friends that I don't get to see anymore either because I don't know where they live and because it's just been awhile since I've seen them. I would also wish that I would get invited to spend time with more family members other than Mom. (I like spending time with her, but it seems that my brothers are always getting invited to do things and I'm not even thought of.) Actually, I might sort of get that wish, as my bother told me a few days ago that he and his fiance want to take me out this month, so I'm happy for that. *smile*

Post 20 by Don'tBlaisMeBro (Folle et simple est la brebis qui au loup se confesse.) on Monday, 06-Nov-2006 18:57:10

A decent mic, a mixer (Mackie maybe), to travel, for my nieces to have a good Christmas as well as the rest of my family.

Post 21 by frequency (the music man) on Tuesday, 07-Nov-2006 10:48:16

goblin, wanting christ is a very interesting christmass wish.

Money is always nice because you can choose your own gift, and you don't have to hurt folks by not using/wearing/eating their gift. lol

Post 22 by Pink Pineapple (Veteran Zoner) on Tuesday, 07-Nov-2006 12:41:51

lol blake, and I wish I could say just being with family was enough but mine is so disfunktional that's too much to hope for so, I'd like a puppy or a plain ticket to paris lol

Post 23 by tnydancer (Generic Zoner) on Tuesday, 07-Nov-2006 20:39:08

Oh hahaha! if in the unlikely event that he turns up here with a bottle of vintage single malt whisky, I won't complain.

Post 25 by Godzilla-On-Toast (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Sunday, 12-Nov-2006 18:46:27

I admit I've got a nice long list of material things I'd want, but this might be a little more universal and will cost much less. OK, let's see. I do not want to be lectured by anyone, be it the anti-materialists or the food police about how I choose to celebrate Christmas. I want everyone to stop politicizing the holiday. I want people to not use "Merry Christmas" as a fuck-you to some perceived enemy of their tradition. I want everyone, be they perceived majority or perceived minority, to stop their pointless whining about how they're being picked on and persecuted. In short, I want people to damn well get over themselves and have a good time this Christmas as they see fit. Knowing human nature, it's probably a tall order, but even cynics can dream, eh?

Post 26 by cuddle_kitten84 (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 13-Nov-2006 5:42:58

gosh, i don't really know, i'd love peter kay's autobiography on audio, but nobody's been able to find it yet, money's always a good thing, and i want our troops home from iraq, and their families to have a good time for a change, instead of wishing their husband/brother/dad was home.

Post 27 by CrazyMusician (If I don't post to your topic, it's cuz I don't give a rip about it!) on Thursday, 23-Nov-2006 1:27:14

I'm with a lot of you guys... safety for the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, being able to see family and friends (hurrah! I get to do that!). In terms of gifts... I'm going the practical route this year... winter boots and warm pants (not sure what they're called), a cordless phone that doesn't die after you use it for an hour, a couple of books... a week to relax......

Post 28 by motifated (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Thursday, 23-Nov-2006 2:22:21

I honestly don't know what stuff I want this year. I'm genuinly hapy goving to others, or doing for others. I guess if I wanted anything, I'd like to have about three or four days with someone who really knows how tuse my synthesizer. There's so much it can do, and I don't have the time or self-discipline to just sit down and learn it. The other thing I'd really like is a really nice, deep snow on Christmas. I'm one of these craz blind people who likes snow, and the challenges/problems it resents. I actually like shoveling the stuff, so maybe that's the real stuff I want for Christmas.

i want to go to ecuador and spend time with my family during christmas. and i also would like an Ipod. another good thing i would like in the future is a Kurtsweil NFB reader.

Post 30 by Sassiecat (Generic Zoner) on Thursday, 23-Nov-2006 18:02:18

Hmm, let's see. What do I want for Christmas?
Well, I'd definitely love a brand new computer, that's for certain. I would also love to have an IRiver, and a new BrailleNote, since the one I have is an old clunker. Of course, all of those gifts are expensive, but hey, I can dream...
Most of all though, if I could have one thing for Christmas, and one thing only, it would be for my mom to come back to life, but i know that can not happen. Still, if it could, and that was the only thing I could have, I would be satisfied with that.
